2013 Feature Submissions Open

We are stoked to announce that submissions are now open for the 3rd annual London Surf / Film Festival. The London Surf / Film Festival is a celebration of the cream of contemporary surf culture and following on from the success of last year, we cordially invite filmmakers from across the globe and across surfing genres to submit their films for consideration for this years festival programme. Surf culture is wide open to creative interpretation and we welcome films that explore all aspects and angles of surfing from documentary to stop-frame to animation and anything in between.

Features will be screened across four nights from the 31st October to the 3rd November 2013, showcasing international surfing’s hottest releases. The programme will consist of the very best in independent films by both leading lights and emerging surf filmmakers, features by internationally acclaimed directors and UK premiers.

Features will be considered by the Screening Panel – comprised of experts from within the worlds of surfing, filmmaking and media – for prestigious awards including London Surf / Film Festival Best Film, Best Documentary and Best Cinematography, as well as eligible for the London Surf / Film Festival Viewer’s Choice, as voted for by the knowledgeable London audience.

In 2012 the sold out festival hosted 13 packed screenings including 5 UK premieres, 5 European premiere and 1 World premiere. We were also stoked to host Q&A’s with celebrated directors including Marcus Davids, Inge Wegge and Jason Hearn. Our award winners included Here and Now, North of the Sun, Dear Suburbia and The Africa Project, plus Lapsed Catholics and Shortie of the Year The Shaper.

Alongside a curated programme of screenings, for 2013 we are again hosting Q+A sessions, conversations and workshops with directors, producers and waveriders of note allowing the audience to get closer to the action and meet the heroes and legends of screen and surf. We will also have a packed programme of happenings in the Approaching Lines Room, which has expanded for 2013.

Deadline for submissions is September 15th 2013. For more information see  The London Surf / Film Festival submissionsor email us here.
